Beth Adele McGraw, 98, of Mechanicsburg, passed away on Sunday September 18, 2016 at Bethany Village, Mechanicsburg.
Born on January 6, 1918 in Los Angeles, CA, she was the daughter of the late Charles S. and Mary G. (Melton) Palmer, and she was the widow of James Joseph McGraw.
Beth was a graduate of UCLA and a member of Sigma Kappa Sorority. She was a former school teacher at Charles Lindbergh Elementary School in California and a Veteran in the US Navy who served during WWII achieving the rank of Lieutenant. Beth was a world traveler and enjoyed taking cruises. Beth also fostered over 100 children through the Catholic Charities.
She is survived by seven children, James McGraw and his wife Martha, of Harrisburg; Jerome McGraw and his wife Marian, of Mechanicsburg; Teresa Henderson, of Mechanicsburg; Toni McGraw, of Mechanicsburg; Karen Dodd and her husband David, of Florida; Patricia Paradise and her husband Ronald, of Enola; and Roy O'Brien and his wife Melody, of Middletown. Fourteen grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her sister, Gwenna Wade.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday September 26, 2016 in Myers-Harner Funeral Home, 1903 Market St., Camp Hill, with Chaplain Ken Fornicola officiating. Burial will be held following the service in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Mechanicsburg.
