Beryl Maureen Farndell, 93, of Mechanicsburg, PA, passed away on Thursday July 25, 2019 at Brookdale Grandon Farms, Mechanicsburg.

Born on February 25, 1926 in England, she was the daughter of the late Percy and Rose Boult, and she was the widow of George Farndell.

Maureen was a retired foreign correspondent for NATO. She attended Whips Cove Church in Warfordsburg, PA. Maureen was an avid bridge player and gardener. She had a great love for flowers and horticulture. She was a square dancer, piano player, bird watcher, and lover of animals and children.

Maureen is survived by a daughter, Lorna Maureen-Rose Bittman, of Lemoyne, PA; a son, Mace Percy Bittman (Wife:Pamela), of Easton, PA, Step Son, John C. Farndell, Greenwich, NY, Step son, Richard Farndell, Centerbrook, CT; and a niece, Billie Ann Montgomery (Husband:Robert), of Tennessee.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Loran Rice Bittman.

A service to celebrate Maureen's life will be held at 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday July 31, 2019 in the Myers-Harner Funeral Home, 1903 Market St., Camp Hill, PA. A visitation will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday from 6:30 P.M. until the time of the service. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Whips Cove Church Cemetery, Warfordsburg.
