Bernadine "Penny" Esther Bucko Klingensmith, 90, of Camp Hill, passed away on Sunday November 13, 2016 at Messiah Lifeways, Mechanicsburg.
Born on April 13, 1926 in Ford City, PA, she was the youngest child of the late Leopold and Anna (Chrust) Bucko.
Penny was employed for many years at Pomeroy's/Bon-Ton Department Store. She was a woman of many talents, including flower arranging, cooking (especially noted for her Christmas cookies), sewing, shopping, furniture restoring, and yard sale-ing. Penny was a long-time member of the Church of the Good Shepherd in Camp Hill. She volunteered in her community and church, including the Golden Sneakers, West Shore Players, Helping Hands Ministry, The Red Hat Society, and at Trinity High School.
She is survived by her husband of 69 years, Russell Klingensmith, of Camp Hill, three sons, Mark (Wanda) Klingensmith, of Greensburg, PA; Kevin (Marti) Klingensmith, of Lewisberry, PA; and Kurt (Amy) Klingensmith, of Richmond, VA; a son-in-law, Thomas Stewart, of Harrisburg, PA; a daughter, Kim (Karl) Lewis, of Tazewell, VA; eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by five sisters, Mary Hloznik, Josephine Johnson, Frances Bucko, Sister Vivian Bucko, and Veronica Bucko; three brothers, Leopold Bucko, Frank Bucko, and Leo Bucko; and a daughter, Mary Beth Stewart.
A mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday November 18, 2016 in the Church of the Good Shepherd, 3435 Trindle Rd. Camp Hill, PA 17011, with Rev. Philip Burger as Celebrant. A visitation will be held in the church on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the mass. A graveside service will be held at 2:30 P.M on Friday at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. Myers-Harner Funeral & Cremation Services, Camp Hill has been entrusted with funeral arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Church of the Good Shepherd.
