Barbara N. Gilder, 80, of Dillsburg, passed away on Tuesday January 13, 2015 at her home. Born on March 28, 1934 in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Nathan and Jessie (Markowitz) Hyman and was the widow of David H. Gilder. Barbara was previously employed at Mutual of Omaha, Maryland. She was a volunteer in the Library at Community General Osteopathic Hospital for many years. She enjoyed reading, knitting crafting, playing cards, and participating in activities at Moyer House where she lived. She is survived by a son, Neal M. Gilder, and his wife, Nikki, of Onancock, VA. A daughter, Natalie S. and her husband, F. Edward Geiger, III, of Mechanicsburg; and six grandchildren, Melissa Geiger Shulman, David Geiger, Rebecca Geiger, Emma Geiger, Meghan Gilder, and Alex Gilder. Also, she was preceded in death by a son, Michael Gilder, and a sister, Ruth Schmerling. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday January 16, 2014 at Moyer House, 11 Tristan Dr., Dillsburg, PA. A visitation with the family will be held from 9:30 A.M. until the time of the service. A private burial will be held at the convenience of the family in the King David Memorial Gardens, Falls Church, VA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Association.
