Alvin L. Stockslager, 77, of Camp Hill, passed away on Friday October 12, 2018 at Geisinger Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill.
Born on April 27, 1941 in Fayetteville, he was the son of the late Alvah and Hazel Stockslager, and he was the widower of Linda (Lockhart) Stockslager.
Al was retired from the Commonwealth of PA where he was the Executive Director of the Legislative Data Processing Unit. He was a member of the Pennsylvania Assoc. of Retired State Employees and the American Legion Post # 26 in Dillsburg. Al enjoyed listening to Blues music, and spending time hunting, and fishing.
He is survived by his son, Bret Stockslager, of Chambersburg; two grandchildren, Gabriella and Raeleigh Stockslager and their mother Kathy Defenderfer, of Chambersburg; and his companion, Fran Salisbury, of New Oxford.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Stella Burgard, his sister Shirley Mixell and his brother, Roger Stockslager.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday October 20, 2018 in the Myers-Harner Funeral Home, 1903 Market St., Camp Hill, with Pastor Richard Egolf officiating. A viewing will be held in the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. until the start of the service. Burial will be held following the service in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, Chambersburg.
